A rezoning process has been initiated for the site to accommodate four new multi-family buildings with 262 suites. Each building will be 4 storeys with 1 level of underground parking and will include a range of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom suites.
W&J Construction Ltd. has assembled a 3.9 acre site at the north east corner of Drinkwater Road and Ford Road in North Cowichan within the Bell McKinnon Local Area Plan.
The Bell McKinnon Local Area Plan and the OCP identify the area as a growth area to accommodate both ongoing population increases and the new regional hospital on Bell McKinnon Road.
The property is located at the northeast corner of Drinkwater Road and Ford Road in the directly across Drinkwater Road from Cowichan Commons shopping centre and across Ford Road from the new RCMP Detachment.
Estimated occupancy date for a first phase is Fall 2025.
